§ Mr. HainIn 1997, companies in Wales accepted 161 offers of Regional Selective Assistance. Information about the capital costs of individual projects is treated as "commercial in confidence". The relationship between offer levels and capital costs varies widely according to the type of project and reflects the selective nature of RSA whereby projects are secured for the minimum necessary cost.
In development areas offer values ranged from 8.5% to 29.4% of capital costs and in intermediate areas from 1.97% to 18.7%.
