To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proposals he has to strengthen economic stability. [35081]

I propose to implement a Code for Fiscal Stability. The Code, which will be underpinned by legislation in the Finance Bill, will enhance economic stability by ensuring that fiscal and debt management policy operate in accordance with the principles of transparency, stability, responsibility, efficiency and fairness. Copies of the paper which sets out and explains the Code for Fiscal Stability have been placed in the Vote Office and in the Library of the House.
