Mr. William Ross

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is her estimate of the number of persons who took part in each of the two processions to Belfast city centre on 22 February 1998. [31903]

Mr. Ingram

[holding answer 27 February 1998]: It is estimated that the procession from West Belfast consisted of approximately 500 persons and the procession from North Belfast consisted of approximately 250 persons.

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if any notice was given to the police under public order legislation in regard to the two processions held to Belfast city centre on 22 February 1998. [31904]
