§ Mr. Straw[holding answer 10 February 1998]: A reply, where one is needed, is given to letters received in these as in other languages. The overwhelming majority of letters received a reply in English but replies to letters received in Welsh are given in Welsh. If the hon. Member has information that this policy has given rise to any difficulty I would be glad to have it and to look at the matter.
