HC Deb 04 March 1998 vol 307 c649W
Liz Blackman

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what factors governed the composition of the Steering Committee of his Department's project on chemical variation and end users of coal. [32565]

Mr. Raynsford

The factors involved in this selection included the need to obtain commercially sensitive information from suppliers, users and the owners of coal, to ensure that those responsible for coal industry regulation and for advising on planning applications to extract coal were involved, and to obtain the views of the communities directly affected by the industry's operations.
