§ Mr. RookerThe Government regard National Food Safety Week, organised by the Food and Drink Federation, as a valuable way of promoting public health messages on food hygiene. I was pleased to launch the campaign, and in addition, the Government provided financial support. National Food Safety Week is distinct from the Government's own publicity initiatives on food safety. About £1.5m is committed by the Department each year on publicity material and media campaigns.
