There are two special advisers working in my Department, but no other political advisers or political appointees. The combined total cost of the two posts for the twelve month period up to 5 May 1998 was approximately £67,000. There were no special advisers, political advisers or political appointees working in the Overseas Development Administration in the last full year of the last government.
