§ Mrs. BeckettThe forthcoming Competitiveness White Paper will set out the Government's vision for sustainable wealth creation, based on a high-skill, high-investment, innovative, modern economy. It will contain a range of policies and initiatives for companies themselves to improve their performance, and for Government and others to create the right framework and conditions to foster such an improvement. It will be for each public and private sector body involved to address the environmental implications of their activities, including where necessary, through specific environmental appraisal.
