To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will investigate the factors underlying the response time performance of Derbyshire Ambulance NHS Trust in 1997–98. [52107]

Derbyshire Ambulance Service has experienced an increase in its emergency workload of almost 50 per cent. since 1993. North Derbyshire and Southern Derbyshire Health Authorities, Derbyshire Ambulance Service and the National Health Service Executive are working together to address ambulance response times in Derbyshire and how these can best be improved.
