To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make it his policy to replace free of charge amalgam fillings with non-mercury-based materials for persons diagnosed as having MS. [50998]

National Health Service dental treatments are provided on the basis of clinical need. This could include replacing fillings if that is the advice of the responsible medical practitioner. Full or partial exemptions from treatment charges are available for people on low incomes.
