§ Mr. SpellarThere were two stores at AWE Aldermaston which were identified as not constructed for long-term storage of Intermediate Level Waste (ILW) by the Radioactive Waste Management Advisory Committee. The waste from these two stores will be checked, overpacked and transported to one of the existing purpose built stores by the end of 1999. It remains the intention to construct the new ILW store referred to by the Radioactive Waste Management Advisory Committee in paragraph 151 of their report on the Ministry of Defence radioactive waste management to deal with future waste arisings.
