§ Mr. FatchettThe Troika's proposals to the General Affairs Council concentrated on improving dialogue between the EU and Algeria, on encouraging greater transparency on the part of the Algerian authorities and on encouraging democratisation, including through parliamentary exchanges. These measures will help in improving the situation of the Algerian people. They were approved by the General Affairs Council on 26 January.
