§ The Prime Minister[holding answer 20 January 1998]: Details of official gifts to the Sovereign or other Members of the Royal Family are generally made public through press releases at the time they are received. All official gifts are recorded and retained in public museums, the Royal Library or royal palaces, and are displayed to the public or used on public occasions where possible. Requests from members of the public for information about gifts to The Queen and other Members of the Royal Family are answered by members of the Royal Household.
