§ Mr. Banks[holding answer 22 December 1997]: The National Lottery distributors estimate that some 5,805 awards worth approximately £2.78 billion have been made to help support new buildings and refurbish existing ones across the United Kingdom. A further £2.75 billion has been promised in partnership funding. A breakdown by country follows:
