HC Deb 23 February 1998 vol 307 c42W
Miss McIntosh

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence when he expects Second Division will have an expeditionary force capability. [30509]

Dr. Reid

The Second Division is for the most part an administrative formation responsible for units stationed in the Eastern counties from Northumberland in the north to Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk in the south. The Division therefore has no expeditionary force capability; but many of the units for which it has administrative responsibility do have such a capability, including notably 19 Mechanised Infantry Brigade in Catterick.
