§ Ms Estelle MorrisThe Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 National Curriculum tests provide valid and reliable assessments of pupils' progress, and contribute towards the raising of school standards and effectiveness. The cost of these tests, and associated administrative arrangements, are kept under constant review by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority to ensure that they are conducted as efficiently and economically as possible, while maintaining the quality of information they provide.
