HC Deb 17 February 1998 vol 306 c628W
Mr. Hancock

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what recent representations she has received from individuals and organisations concerning disability benefits for people suffering from brain injuries. [27951]

Mr. Denham

Several letters, which have been sent by individuals to their Members of Parliament, have been passed to Ministers. These have expressed concern over possible changes to benefits and taxation. They ask us to consider the particular problems of those with brain injuries and to consult fully with organisations representing disabled people.

We have met, and will continue to meet, with people who are sick or disabled and their representatives. These meetings have been very useful in helping us in our considerations during our comprehensive review of spending.
