To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what amount of Brazilian mahogany has been(a) acquired and (b) specified by her Department in (i) 1996 and (ii) 1997; and for what purpose. [28383]

This Department does not specify any mahogany or any other tropical hardwood in furniture specifications, and has not knowingly acquired any during 1996 and 1997.
