To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what plans he has to respond to the recommendation of the Radioactive Waste Management Advisory Committee that the Government should address the circumstances in which radioactive sources should be defined as wastes. We are considering the Radioactive Waste Management Advisory Committee's advice on the import and export of radioactive waste, which included the question of when radioactive sources are defined as waste, with a view to developing detailed guidance for the regulators. Such guidance will be subject to public consultation.
