To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if schools which have already opted out of the School Teachers" Pay and Conditions Act 1991 will be able to continue to opt out of the requirements of that Act following the implementation of the School Standards and Framework Bill. [26801]

Yes. Part II of schedule 30 to the School Standards and Framework Bill will allow those schools which have already opted out of the School Teachers" Pay and Conditions Act 1991 to continue to do so under the new framework where such a school joins either the voluntary aided or foundation category of schools.
