§ Mr. MealeAccording to the Recycling Advisory Unit, the percentage of scrap recycled as a percentage of production in the UK in 1997 was 55 per cent. for steel634W and 44 per cent. for aluminium. International comparisons are misleading because of the wide range of formulae used for calculating recovery and recycling rates.
