§ Mr. RookerThe Government are responding today to the House of Lords Science and Technology Select Committee's report on resistance to antibiotics and other antimicrobial agents. We support a phased withdrawal of antimicrobial growth promoters which may impair the efficacy of prescribed therapeutic antibiotics used in human medicine through the development of resistant strains of organisms.
