HC Deb 14 December 1998 vol 322 cc354-5W
Mr. Austin

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions there have been in each of the last five years for contravention of paragraph 4 of the Public Service Vehicles (Conduct of Drivers, Inspectors, Conductors and Passengers) Regulations 1990. [63679]

Mr. Boateng

Unfortunately, information collected centrally on the Home Office Court Proceedings Database does not distinguish offences committed under paragraph 4 of the Public Service Vehicles (Conduct of Drivers, Inspectors, Conductors and Passengers) Regulations 1990 from other summary offences.

However, I understand that since February 1996, when computerised records began, the Vehicle Inspectorate has recorded no prosecutions in England and Wales under the provisions of paragraph 4.
