§ Mr. McLeishSection 2 of the Scotland Act 1998 provides that the date of the Parliament's first sitting will be prescribed in an order by the Secretary of State. My right hon. Friend will make an announcement on this in due course, but we expect that the Parliament will first meet a few days after the elections on 6 May.
§ Mr. SwayneTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to review the method by which additional members of the Scottish parliament will be elected. [62087]
§ Mr. McLeishThe electoral system for the Scottish Parliament is set out in the Scotland Act 1998, which received Royal Assent on 19 November. We have no plans to review this.
