HC Deb 28 April 1998 vol 311 c75W
Mrs. Gillan

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if all the computer systems used by the emergency services in Northern Ireland will be millennium compliant by 31 December 1998. [39896]

Mr. Paul Murphy

[holding answer 27 April 1998]: Plans received from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service indicate that all their computer systems will be year 2000 compliant by 31 December 1998.

The year 2000 plans of the Northern Ireland Fire Authority indicate that full compliance will be achieved by July 1999.

The majority of the Royal Ulster Constabulary's operational and administrative systems will be compliant by December 1998. The few remaining will be made compliant early in 1999.
