§ Mr. SpellarA quality management group, originally called the Superintendency of Inspection, has existed at the Atomic Weapons Establishment AWE since the 1960s. It is currently part of the Directorate of Quality and Safety Assurance whose function includes the stewardship of the AWE quality system. The Directorate of Quality Assurance maintains the AWE Quality Manual, and supporting documentation. It also produces quality plans, audit programmes, audit reports and quarterly analysis reports.
