§ Mr. Alan Howarth[holding answer 13 March 1998]: We expect that the first results of the pilots starting in October this year will be available by end of 1999. As part of the New Deal for Disabled People we will also be developing a programme of research and evaluation to increase our understanding of the client group and to determine the effect of our initiatives. The results of the research will be made available to all those with an interest in promoting employment opportunities for 338W disabled people and people with long-term health problems. This is in keeping with the Government's continuing policy of openness.
