HC Deb 08 April 1998 vol 310 c268W
11. Mr. Fabricant

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if she will make a statement on the current prospects for the tourist industry in the Province. [36900]

Mr. Ingram

Given an uncertain political situation, which has a considerable impact on tourism, it is difficult to make projections for tourism revenue and numbers of visitors to Northern Ireland. However, forecasts for 1998 suggest modest growth in terms of revenue to £215 million and overall visitor numbers are anticipated to increase to 1.45 million.
