§ Mr. HainThe Government are developing a road safety strategy for Wales which will work in conjunction with the integrated transport policy.
Later this year, new road casualty reduction targets will be set for 2010. Specific measures and initiatives towards achieving the new target will be in the following broad policy areas:
- vehicle safety
- drink-drive
- safety engineering
- speed management
- walking and cycling strategy
- driver training and testing
- enforcement
- road safety education and publicity.
