§ Mr. HoonHigh Court judges sitting at Birmingham Crown Court heard 163 guilty pleas and 73 trials during 1997. Time estimates are agreed between the judge and the parties. Figures on the number of those cases over-running are not collated and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
