To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what are the key targets set for the Chief Executive of the Defence Postal and Courier Services Agency for the financial year 1998–99. [38776]

The Chief Executive of the Defence Postal and Courier Services Agency has been set the following key targets for the Financial Year 1998–99:

Key Target 1:

To achieve a 2 per cent. improvement in the range of postal and courier services provided.

Key Target 2:

To achieve independent assessment of DPCSA using the British Quality Foundation (BQF) Business Excellence Model (BEM) by 31 March 1999, to enable subsequent measurement of business improvements.

Key Target 3:

To exceed an average 95.85 per cent. satisfaction of Customers' postal and courier requirements.

Key Target 4:

To exceed an average 2 per cent. improvement in unit costs per output.
