§ Mr. BattleThe Government have a continuing dialogue with the British steel industry. My right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade and I have had numerous meetings with representatives of the industry and MPs who have a constituency interest in the industry. I have also been to see steel manufacturing processes first-hand and to meet some of those working in the industry. My officials have frequent and wide-ranging contacts at all levels.
