§ Ms Estelle MorrisResponsibility for ensuring that A-level and GCSE examiners maintain standards from year to year and across syllabuses lies with the GCE and GCSE Examining Boards, in collaboration with the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and the Qualifications, Curriculum and Assessment Authority for Wales. The Boards follow detailed Codes of Practice, agreed annually with the QCA and ACCAC. New examiners are appointed only if they have the relevant qualifications and experience, and the performance of existing examiners is closely monitored.
