§ Ms JowellThe donation of human tissue for research purposes is permitted under the Human Tissue Act 1961. However, if a person (or his/her family) has given permission for organs to be taken for transplantation and352W those organs prove unsuitable for transplantation they cannot automatically be used for research purposes. Separate consent must be obtained.
