HL Deb 04 November 1997 vol 582 cc289-90WA
Lord Berkeley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Further to the Written Answer by Baroness Hayman on 23 October (WA 221), how many miles of road in London carry scheduled bus services.

Baroness Hayman

The Department, London Transport and the boroughs do not record information on the total length of roads used by scheduled buses in London. However, the most important bus routes in London—those carrying over 15 buses per hour and some linking routes—are in the London bus priority network or form part of the red route network. The total length of these bus routes is around 840 miles.
