§ Mr. MeacherThe Government is committed to taking tough action to improve air quality in the UK. We will make clear our position on the levels of sulphur in petrol and diesel and benzene in petrol at the Council of European Environment Ministers meeting in June, as part of the negotiation of a common position on the proposed vehicles and fuels directives.
