To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what factors underlay the differences in the definition of social security expenditure in(a) table 5 of "General Expenditure and Revenue, Wales, 1994–95", and (b) table 7.7 of "Public Expenditure Statistical Analysis 1996–97", Cm 3201; and if he will make a statement. The figure for non-identified social security expenditure published in table 7.7 of "Public Expenditure Statistical Analysis 1998–97" is incorrect. Her Majesty's Treasury issued an erratum slip in August 1996. The figure in table 5 of "General Expenditure and Revenue, Wales 1994–95" is correct.
