HC Deb 20 March 1997 vol 292 c702W
Sir Peter Lloyd

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what steps she is taking to ensure that groups and organisations who wish to apply for lottery funding know whom to approach for information and advice. [21647]

Mrs. Virginia Bottomley

My Department has published a new lottery information leaflet, produced in conjunction with the national lottery distributing bodies and Camelot. The leaflet has been designed to promote understanding of the purpose and function of the lottery. It tells potential applicants who does what and how to contact them.

Two million copies of the leaflet have been printed and over one and a half million are being distributed to bodies such as libraries, citizens advice bureaux and local authorities. They will also be sent to members of business organisations such as the Lions, Rotary International, chambers of commerce and round tables. They might be able to assist groups in putting together lottery applications.

Copies of the leaflet are available from the Libraries of the House and can also be obtained free of charge from my Department, the distributing bodies and Camelot.
