HC Deb 20 March 1997 vol 292 c810W
Ms Lynne

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what steps are being taken by his Department to ensure that all health authorities meet the mobility needs of disabled people living in NHS care following the removal of the mobility component from the disability living allowance for long-stay NHS patients. [21465]

Mr. Burns

The national health service has been and continues to be responsible for meeting the mobility needs of everybody living in its care as part of its day-to-day work. The more effective targeting of the disability living allowance has not affected this responsibility.
