Friend has yet to complete his consideration of the request from Highlands and Islands Enterprise for approval of its proposed financial contribution to the cost of the funicular railway project. He is awaiting further information from Highlands and Islands Enterprise on the impact of the recently agreed visitors management regime on the project's financial projections. In considering the request for approval, my right hon. Friend will wish to be satisfied as to the financial viability of the project.
