Mr. Dafis

To ask the Prime Minister which Ministers will represent the United Kingdom Government at the United Nations General Assembly special session in New York on 23–27 June. [106]

The Prime Minister

[holding answer 21 May 1997]: I shall be attending the Special Session and will be addressing the General Assembly on 23 June. My right hon. Friends, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Secretary of State for International Development and my hon. Friend, the Minister for the Environment will also attend.

My right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary, is playing an active role in preparations for the Special Session, but it is not clear at this stage whether he will be able to attend.
