HC Deb 02 June 1997 vol 295 c56W
Mrs. Dunwoody

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions if he will make a statement on the future of Crossrail. [1129]

Ms Glenda Jackson

On 2 April 1996, the then Secretary of State for Transport announced that he had asked the Chairman of Railtrack to consider the project further. We will consider the future of Crossrail in the light of both Railtrack's views when received, and our own priorities for transport in London.
