HC Deb 26 February 1997 vol 291 c275W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many community hospitals there were in the NHS in Wales in April 1992; what is the current number; and what will be the numbers, on the basis of current plans, in April 1998. [16626]

Mr. Hague

There were 93 NHS community hospitals—excluding major acute, psychiatric and specialist hospitals—in the NHS in Wales in April 1992, the number at present is 88. It is not possible to speculate on the number of community facilities that will exist in 1998.
