HC Deb 18 December 1997 vol 303 c285W
Mr. Rowlands

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what assessment he has made of the number of starts which will be allocated to each TEC in Wales for modern apprenticeships in 1998–99. [21025]

Mr. Hain

Programme provision allows for a total of 4,500 modern apprenticeship starts in Wales in 1998–99. Details of the allocation of these starts to individual TECs will not be available until contract negotiations between both the Welsh Office and the TECs and between the TECs and their training providers have been concluded.
