Mr. Vaz

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what representations he has received in respect of the Government's plans for Oxbridge funding. [20515]

Dr. Howells

We have received around 200 letters over the last five months about the issue of college fees at Oxford and Cambridge. There have also been debates in both Houses. We have also met representatives of both Universities and their Colleges and, as my hon. Friend knows, I met him and the Master of Gonville and Caius College Cambridge on 2 December.
