To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department if he will list those insurance companies and brokers with whom he has held discussions since 18 October about his proposals to reform the legal aid system. [20682]

The precise details of meetings arranged since 18 October are as follows: on 29 October officials met representatives of the Association of British Insurers; on 14 November the Lord Chancellor met the Chairman of Abbey Legal Protection Ltd.; on 19 November officials met representatives of Litigation Protection Ltd.; on 2 December the Lord Chancellor met representatives of the ABI, DAS, Abbey Legal Protection, Legal Protection Group, Litigation Protection Ltd., Greystoke Legal Services Ltd., R. E. Brown and others and Lloyd's and Law Club Legal Protection (Cornhill Group); on 3 December officials attended a seminar organised by Abbey Legal Protection; and, on 4 December officials met representatives of Peak Insurance Services. Arrangements are also being made for the first meeting of the working group of insurance industry representatives and officials to be held in the new year.
