§ Ms Estelle MorrisAll maintained schools are required to publish in their prospectus a statement indicating the aims of the governing body with respect to sport at their school and the provision made for sport. In its annual report to parents, the governing body must indicate the extent to which its aims were met and to give details of any notable sporting achievements by the school's teams. In our White Paper "Excellence in schools" we undertook to consult on the balance between requiring schools to include specific information and leaving more to their discretion.
