§ Mr. Hoyle
To ask the Secretary of State for Health what changes he intends to make to the role of NHS trusts in respect of the delivery of local health care. [18239]

§ Mr. Milburn
As set out in the White Paper "The New NHS" (Cm 3807), there will be a new focus on quality in National Health Service trusts.
They will no longer compete, but work in partnership with other local bodies to provide the best health care possible for local needs.
