§ Mr. MaloneAs recommended by the nursing pay review body, nurses on national terms of service received a 2 per cent. national increase from 1 April 1996, with local negotiations for further increases. Ancillary grade staff on national terms also received a 2 per cent. national increase, with local negotiations. For staff on national health service trust terms and conditions, pay increases are a matter for local negotiation. Pay costs are funded within overall NHS resources.
