Mr. Morley

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was in each year from 1988 to 1995, inclusive, and broken down by agricultural land grade, the area of land proposed for developments of over 20 hectares in size in respect of which his Department has(a) not objected and (b) objected. [holding answer 24 July 1996]: Local planning authorities are required to consult the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food about any development proposal which does not accord with the development plan and which involves, or is likely to lead to, the loss of more than 20 hectares of agricultural land of grades 1, 2 or 3a. The information requested is shown in the table.
